UK prog-rock outfit based around musicians Pete Riley and Andy Nixon. Their latest work is described by them as ‘The third and conclusive album of the anti war trilogy’. It’s out now.

Sheryl Crow & Joe Walsh – “Still the Good Old Days” from album Threads

This is cited to be the final album from the American singer-songwriter. A collaborative work it features duets with the likes of Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Sting, Stevie Nicks, Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris and Kris Kristofferson. Crow says she will continue to write and tour, and may release ‘short-form’ work on EPs, but that she “couldn’t possibly follow-up such a gathering of artists”. Not a very good reason to bow out Sheryl, but we will see. Album out on 30th August.

Heather Findlay – “Just A Woman” from album Wild White Horses ft Danny Bowes of Thunder

The now solo former Mostly Autumn singer gets to release her third album on 5th July. The UK singer-songwriter released her previous two albums as The Heather Findlay Band, for this one she’s dropped the word ‘Band’.

Berlin – “Transcendance” from album Transcendance

An American new wave band formed in Orange County, California in 1978 and fronted by Terri Nunn. They split in 1987, partly over their big hit “Take My Breath Away” from the 1986 film Top Gun not being representative of their music, and that it having been written by Giorgio Moroder, they did receive royalties. Nunn reformed Berlin a decade later with her has the only original member, and between then and 2013, released three further album.  However this – their eighth – reunites Nunn with co-founders John Crawford and David Diamond for the first time since 1986. It is set for release on 2nd August. The name of the album (and title track) is deliberately misspelled by the way.

A London based singer-songwriter, originally from Laurencetown near Belfast, with his second album. The release date of which is 5th July.

Frank Turner – “Sister Rosetta” from album No Man’s Land

This song, from the UK singer-songwriter’s forthcoming eighth studio album is about Sister Rosetta Tharpe, an American gospel singer-guitarist whose style influenced the early rock ‘n’ rollers. The album is set for release on 16th August.

Wall of Roses – “Back on the Road” from album Every Song Has Its Own Story

A Dutch band formed in 2016 by veteran musicians Siebrand van der Wal and Hans Rozema (hence the band’s name) who wanted to record songs they’ve had in their heads for years, but never got the chance to cut. Now they have – and it’s out on 14th July. Watch false ending.
