Welcome to another edition of Mostly Summer Starting this hour with a few more from the year 1971, which was another of my musical education years. Some New ones plus some artists who will be appearing locally soon

 Hour 1

 Every Good Boy Deserves Favour is the seventh album by The Moody Blues, released in 1971. The album reached #1 on the British album charts, in addition to a three-week stay at #2 in the United States,

 Judee Sill  was an American singer and songwriter dying of a drug overdose in 1979. Judee Sill is the eponymous debut album by the American singer-songwriter and musician Judee Sill. Released on September 15, 1971

Track: Enchanted Sky Machines

 Teaser and the Firecat is the fifth studio album by Cat Stevens, released in 1971. The album contains 10 songs including the hits “Morning Has Broken“, “Moonshadow” and “Peace Train“. It is also the title of a children’s book written and illustrated by Stevens.

 Janis Joplin (January 19, 1943 – October 4, 1970) was an American rock singer and songwriter; one of the most successful and widely-known female rock stars of her era. After releasing three albums, she died of a heroin overdose at the age of 27. A fourth album,Pearl, was released in January 1971, just over three months after her death. It reached number one on the Billboard charts

 White Rock is a soundtrack album from the English keyboardist Rick Wakeman, released in 1977  It was produced as the soundtrack to White Rock, a 1977 documentary film about the 1976 Winter Olympics held in Innsbruck, Austria

 Oliver Wakeman  is an English musician, rock keyboardist and composer, best known as a former member of Yes, having filled the role of keyboards previously held by his father, Rick Wakeman. His album The 3 Ages of Magick also included Steve Howe his father’s bandmate in Yes and later as a bandmate when Oliver joined Yes himself

 Adam Wakeman  is an English musician and the current keyboardist and rhythm guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne‘s band; he also played keyboards and guitar off-stage for Black Sabbath. Other musicians Wakeman has been involved with include Annie Lennox, Travis, the Company of Snakes, Strawbs, Will Young, Victoria Beckham, and Atomic Kitten. Adam has often collaborated with his father, Rick Wakeman, and has released albums with him. In 2006 he created his own band, Headspace.

In 2003 he released an album called Real World Trilogy

Track: Endless Sea

 Three of the biggest names in music are coming to Cheltenham Racecourse The Kaiser Chiefs, Jessie J and The Vamps will play at a concert there on May 6 and it’s all in aid of animals. PDSA Petlife Festival ’18 will raise funds for the UK’s biggest pet wellbeing charity to mark its 100th anniversary.

 Josh Rouse  is an American folk/roots pop singer-songwriter. Originally from Nebraska, Rouse began his recording career in Nashville in 1998 and later relocated to Spain. In 2014,  his 12th album Love in the Modern Age has just been released

 Glasgow sextet James Edwyn & the Borrowed Band were formed in 2013, influenced by folk singer songwriters such as Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan as well as alternative country artists such as Gillian Welch Dave Rawlins, the Felice Brothers and Ryan Adams, their music is a mix of alt country folk rock roots orientated , album High Fences
