Welcome to another edition of Mostly Summer Starting this hour with a few from the year 1991 exploring the artist’s album and not playing the usual suspect., a varied selection of new ones, and some from album’s released earlier this year that you and I may have missed, plus the odd gig guide

Stranger in This Town is the first solo studio album by Richie Sambora, and the former guitarist from the New Jersey band Bon Jovi.

 On Every Street is the sixth and final studio album by British rock band Dire Straits, released on 9 September 1991

 New Moon Shine is singer-songwriter James Taylor‘s thirteenth studio album

 Real Life is the ninth studio album by Scottish rock band Simple Minds, released in April 1991

 Strange Affair is the 16th album by rock band Wishbone Ash.

 Into the Great Wide Open is the eighth studio album by American rock band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, first released in 1991

 Leap of Faith is the seventh solo album from singer Kenny Loggins. Released in 1991

Track:  Now or Never

 Stills Alone is a studio album released in 1991 by American musician Stephen Stills. The album features Stills on acoustic and electric guitar, with minimal or no backing on the majority of the tracks

 Night Ride Home is the 14th album by Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, released in 1991

 Colin James – “I Will Remain” from album Miles To Go

A Canadian rock and blues singer-songwriter who got his break opening for Stevie Ray Vaughan back in 1984. Since then he’s been carving out a career for himself which includes some 15 studio album and 17 Maple Blues Awards (Canada’s blues awards). His latest album was released on 21st September.

Graham Parker –  “Nothin’ From You” from album Cloud Symbols

Here’s a number from the London born singer-songwriter, best know for his five albums backed by The Rumour. He re-teamed with The Rumour for 2015’s Mystery Glue, but this one is backed by The Goldtops. Album out now.

Edie Brickell & New Bohemians – “Tell Me” from album Rocket

This will be the band’s first album in twelve years when released this Friday 12th October. It’s their fifth overall.

KT Tunstall – “The Night That Bowie Died” from album Wax

The Scottish singer-songwriter gets to release her sixth studio album (5th October), which is seen as being the second album in the KIN trilogy. It was co-produced with Franz Ferdinand’s Nick McCarthy. Here’s one of its more acoustic numbers.

Lindsey Buckingham – “Hunger” from album Solo Anthology (Deluxe edition)

The guitarist was booted out of Fleetwood Mac (again) back in April after a reported disagreement about the nature of their autumn tour. In his solo career he has released six audio albums, and two compilations – including this one. The deluxe version of the album, which was relased on 5th October, also conatins two new (or unreleased) songs including this one. 

 Doyle Bramhall II – “She’ll Come Around” from album Shades 

An American musician, producer, guitarist, and songwriter. He’s collaborated with a many fellow musicians over the years, including Eric Clapton who appears on this album (although not on this track). This is Bramhall’s fifth solo album, and is out now.

 John  Hiatt  is an American singer-songwriter and musician. The Eclipse Sessions is his 24th album
